Friday Nites Live Concert Series at Jefferson Pointe
June 4th through September 24th

Visit Jefferson Pointe's website for a schedule of the bands that will be playing (and click on the name of the band to listen to a sampling of their music!). All concerts are free and outdoors, so bring a lawn chair and enjoy!

Jefferson Pointe is located at Jefferson and Illinois Roads on the southwest side of town.


HORSE POWER!

Meet the powerful horses used on farms... past and present. The DeKalb County Horsemen’s Association will be at the farm with Percherons, Belgians, Fijords, Spots and Mules to discuss their purpose, history, harnessing and driving methods. Meet these beautiful animals up close and then join us for a horse-drawn wagon ride around the farm. The program is free and open to all ages. Refreshments will be available for purchase. (In the event of rain, the program will be held in the Tractor Barn and the wagon rides will be cancelled.)

BARR STREET FARMERS MARKET

Each summer, the History Center, in partnership with Young Leaders of Northeast Indiana, presents a Farmers Market at the historic marketplace on the corner of Wayne and Barr Streets. Vendors offer a range of fresh produce, including fruits and vegetables, as well as cheese, baked goods, maple syrups, apple butter, apple cider, spices and herbs. Non-food vendors include products such as soaps and lotions, jewelry, sewn handbags and children's clothing. Enjoy acoustic entertainment as well as a hands-on activities for children. Free admission.




LINDENWOOD NATURE PRESERVE

Hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 9 am-6 pm; Sunday, 12-6 pm

Lindenwood Nature Preserve is a 110-acre wooded park featuring 4 hiking trails of varying length (one is wheelchair and stroller accessible), a pond and an open-air pavilion. Hiking, wildlife viewing, photography, picnicking and just relaxing are a few of the activities you’ll enjoy at the preserve. In addition to the Department-sponsored programs listed here, the Lindenwood staff also provides programs for scout groups, church and school groups, home school, clubs, and private parties.
